Vision Statement

Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church-LCMS, Callao, Virginia -
"Proclaiming, serving and nurturing
in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus in the
Northern Neck of Virginia."

Good Shepherd is "A Small
Church With A Huge Heart"

Everyone from the community and those traveling through the area are more than welcome to worship with us. Its always a joy to welcome new faces. We strive to be a true house of the Lord where all can hear the Gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus and draw near to Him.

Worship is a vital part of our shared faith life. We work at making it relevant and full of stimulating variety. Worshiper participation is welcomed (choir, lay readers, drama) and we make the experience user friendly by printing the entire order of worship.

We also want to bring children to the Lord: each service has a "Kid's" Sermon, as well as available youth activity pages. A combined Sunday School is conducted during the second half of the Sunday service. Even though our numbers are small, children are treasured and our teachers dedicated!

Sunday and weekday Bible studies are a regular part of our fellowship. Join in! Good Shepherd members are also deeply involved in community projects and use such as witness and welcoming opportunities. If you desire to volunteer and make a difference in the community, the Good Shepherd Family can help you find a way.

What is the Good Shepherd Family? It is a faith community where you can live and enrich your relationship with the Lord Jesus and others, as well as invite your friends to find a warm welcome also.

To accomplish this, and met our unique mission opportunities, we will:
  1. Proclaim the Gospel to call the lost and nurture believers by group and individual witness, welcome and service;
  2. Nurture the local Lutheran Body of Christ with Word and Sacrament ministry through vital worship opportunities;
  3. Always be ready to provide ministry to children;
